RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Quality Improvement Database Maintenance:

  • Input and maintain accurate databases
  • Assist and use technology to facilitate and improve accuracy of data collection
  • Monitor data quality within databases and provide immediate feedback to department supervisor

2. Collection of clinical data to include but not limited to:

  • Chart review of clinic notes, patient registration forms, physician clinic notes, and surgery dictations for data abstraction purposes for potential patients for the Quality Outcomes Database (QOD)

3. Entry of pertinent data into database in an efficient and accurate manner

4. Collect patient reported outcomes by phone interview while maintaining strong customer service skills

5. Review quality audit reports and review/rectify the errors reported

6. Ensure that all information is processed in a timely manner in compliance with departmental policies and procedures, including patient privacy protection policies under HIPAA

7. Assist Quality Manager in all activities associated with clinical research data collection, data validation, and reporting functions

REQUIREMENTS:

1. One year of previous experience in a healthcare setting with database entry and data management preferred

2. Coursework in science, anatomy and medical preferred

3. Medical terminology/knowledge required

4. Previous Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint experience required.
