• Communicate with Doctors regarding service issues each morning and as a need arises
  • Perform history and physical examinations, consultations, identify problems, records information, interpret and present information to the physician
  • Follow up on diagnostic studies and lab tests
  • Conduct patient rounds, record progress notes, determine and implement therapeutic plans jointly with physicians and health care team
  • Work as a member of the health care team, and assisting in education of patients and families regarding preventative health care and health maintenance concepts.
  • Provide call coverage at the discretion of the practice. (one night a week one weekend a month or similar)
  • When directed, ordered or prescribed by the attending physician:
    • Perform non-invasive procedures
      • Orders medications, treatments and pertinent diagnostic studies
      • Perform invasive procedures to include, but not limited to insertion and removal of central venous catheters, arterial punctures
      • Writing prescriptions or ordering medications to include but not limited to:
        • All schedule 2,3,4,5 drugs
        • Discharge orders
        • Diagnostic studies (i.e. Radiology, Cardiology, Vascular)
        • Consult requests
        • Dietary orders/IV fluid orders 
        • Dressing changes 
        • Admission, pre-op, post op, transfer restraint/seclusion orders
        • Suturing & caring for wounds
        • Able to address medical concerns of patients, nurses and physicians as issues arise
        • Adjust medication as needed to improve pain control
        • Participate on rounds with care managers and social workers as needed
        • Dictate discharge summaries
        • Performs other duties deemed necessary by the employer.
