Dr. Barone currently clinically practices in neurological surgery as a Physician Assistant for Atlantic NeuroSurgical Specialists in the Jersey Shore area of New Jersey. Dr. Barone has been a clinically practicing PA for 22 years and has worked in Neurosurgery and Orthopedic Surgery. Prior to working for Atlantic NeuroSurgical Specilaists he was a full faculty Assistant Professor and Chief Physician Assistant for Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in the Department of Surgery, Division of Neurologic Surgery. Dr. Barone received two bachelor’s degrees from Salem University in Salem, West Virginia in Athletic Training and Natural Sciences. He then went on to receive a third bachelor’s degree from Touro College in Physician Assistant Studies and a then Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from the University of Nebraska School of Medicine. His PhD is in Biomedical Informatic for Rutgers University with his research titled “Cost-effectiveness of patient selection based on advanced imaging for patient with acute ischemic stroke.”. Dr. Barone has been on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey State Society of Physician Assistants, the Association of Neurosurgical Physician Assistants, and has been on multiple committees for the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
Dr. Barone has been happily married, so he is told, for over 20 years and has 2 teenage boys. He likes to spend time with his family, camp, and he is a competitive precision gun shooter on the national level.
